A biz enterprise that empowers sex workers, transgenders & poor

A handful of talented but marginalised women – underprivileged, sex workers, trafficking victims and transgenders-have been receiving support from an unusual quarter to rebuild their lives. Businessman Namit Bajoria has been the pillar of hope for these women, and some ‘Kutchina Krritika’ turned out to be a “friend in need”. See Pics

Krritika 2016

On 3rd August 2016, Kutchina celebrated Krritika 2016, the flagship annual event of Kutchina Foundation which identifies woman with outstanding contributions and efforts in bringing about a social impact and change in the lives of the underprivileged sections of the society in India. Under the initiative, these women are called KRRITIKAS and they are provided with fellowship cash rewards and all necessary support to motivate and help them continue those activities.See Pics

Empowering Women Through Social Entrepreneurship

The panel discussion on ‘Empowering women through social entrepreneurship’ with eminent women personalities like Ms. Britta Leick-Milde, General Manager, Hyatt, Ms. Agnimitra Paul, Fashion designer, Ms. Aloka Mitra, Founder & Director, Women Interlink Foundation and Ms. Urmi Basu, Founder & Director, New Light, being part of the panel. Observed World AIDS Day

Kutchina Foundation observed World AIDS day while inaugurating a skill training centre for women in Kalighat Red Light area and also a drop-in centre for their children. Interactive Session With Krritika

7th September, 2015 was a memorable day for Kutchina Foundation since we have an amazing interactive session with Tumpa Adhikari, one of the Krittikas at KF who works for the rights of the children of the Red light areas. She shared stories of her battle and her experiences while working for KF. We also celebrated Rakhi, to spread the message of brotherhood and camaraderie among the team members.See Pics

Sewing Centre Inauguration

Mr. Namit Bajoria along with the eminent Entrepreneur and Musician Mr. Debaditya Chaudhury visited Baduria to review the work of Manika Sarkar and her organisation ‘Samyo O Shromojibi Samiti’. They inaugurated the sewing centre, which offers a means of earning a livelihood for the girls and women of the area. They extended their moral support and stood by Manika to support her endeavours.See Pics

With Ms. Anindita Sarbadhicari

The Kutchina Foundation team along with eminent Film maker and Theatre Personality Ms. Anindita Sarbadhicari visited Baduria, a remote village in the North 24 Parganas to meet Manika Sarkar. She is one of the Krittikas of Kutchina Krittika, the fellowship program of Kutchina Foundation. The entire team had a day long interaction, which threw light on the struggles and challenges of the women due to rising cross border trafficking and helped them realise the real needs of the hour. It helped the team come up with solutions that helped the women fight against the odds and move forward in life.See Pics

On the eve of International Womens’ day 2015, Kutchina Foundation came forward to honour three eminent women from the disadvantaged backgrounds for their endeavours to empower women and help them rise to full potential through KF’s flagship program Kutchina Krittika.
